Peeping Pervs and Hidden Cameras

There has been a rise in the cases of criminals using hidden micro-cameras to make illicit recordings of people.

From public bathroom stalls in Seoul to Airbnb's in Ireland, we must be mindful of our surroundings in public places.

These recordings could be used for blackmail, extortions and other really evil schemes. Your family could be put at risk, but this disgusting practice takes an even more sinister turn when kids are involved.

With the dangers of sexual predators and child molesters I believe that this issue has not been getting the attention it warrants. The spread of pedophiles and and pedophile internet groups are a very real threat to children everywhere, as they provide a breeding ground and a 'market centre' for such disgusting practices.

👉For instance, you settle down at an #Airbnb ready to start your vacation, getaway or just to stay the night, do your due diligence. Be suspicious. Be alert. Check everywhere, especially the bedroom and bathroom.

👉If you have access to the wireless network, connect your phone to the network (securely of course😉 or with a dummy phone) and scan for devices on the network using PingTools or Fing etc. That might bring up physically hidden IP cameras connected to the network.

👉Checking for night-vision enabled cameras is a bit less technical, especially for cheap models that use IR lights to illuminate the lens. Just turn off all the lights and fire up your phone camera, the IR lights are mostly invisible to the naked eye but show up brightly on cameras.

Of course you could always physically check smoke alarms, clocks and other places a camera might be hidden. Some of these cameras could actually be live-streaming video feeds from your bedroom or bathroom unknown people on the internet. This brings with it, another level of danger and concern.

If you catch someone in the act, please report directly to the police.
