Stay at Home = Stay SAFE at home

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

As this viral pandemic sweeps the world and most people are forced to stay at and work from home, a lot of workers see it fit to show the world what it's like for them working from home.

Whether it be their kids, showing exercise routines, sharing how not to get royally bored at this moment in time, a lot of these insights are provided by pictures and videos of their various settings. Now, please people, I know you're all trying to show what it's like working from home on lock-down but DO NOT sacrifice the security of your systems or your family for 15 mins of fame.

👉We DO NOT need to know the name of your three daughters and their pet dog (which probably form part of a password currently in use on one of your accounts), nor the high-resolution photos of their faces that can be used against them later in their life.

👉We DO NOT need to see the security system in your home that is clearly visible on some of your videos.

👉We also DO NOT need you to give us a full screening of what is supposed to be your home and safe space for your family. Most of these videos are so detailed you might think they were on MTV Cribs.

👉 Make sure your pictures DO NOT show sensitive information that's on your laptop screen.

👉Do not tell us what VPN service or online software you are using to tunnel into your corporate network.

👉We definitely don't need to know what software your organization is using to collaborate with all its at-home workers at this time.

👉 Oh, and that high--resolution photo taken by the powerful camera on your #samsunggalaxys20 can show the model of your home router CLEARLY, and I'm pretty sure that thing hasn't seen a firmware update in years 😄.

Criminals are watching with glee whilst we compromise the physical and cybersecurity of our homes.

Remember, evil never sleeps.

✋So stop and check your photos before posting online

✋Limit the amount of information you give out

✋DO NOT talk about your home/work setup

Stay safe in the 'real world' and online🙏
